THURSDAY OF THE 2ND WEEK IN ORDINARY TIMES

January 23, 2025

  • First reading: Hebrew 7:25-8:6
  • Psalm: 40:7-8, 10 (Here am I, Lord; I come to do your will)
  • Gospel: Mark 3:7-12
A Brief Homily

In today’s readings, we see the greatness of Jesus as our eternal High Priest who intercedes for us. Hebrews reminds us that Jesus offers a perfect sacrifice, bringing us close to God. In the Gospel, people flock to Jesus for healing, drawn by His compassion and power.

Jesus continues to call us to Himself, offering healing and hope. Let us respond with faith, like the psalmist, saying, “Here I am, Lord; I come to do Your will.” Trust in His care and commit to living in His love, sharing it with others. Jesus is always there, ready to help.

Inspiration Message
  1. Jesus intercedes for us – Trust that Jesus is always praying for you and guiding you closer to God.
  2. God’s sacrifice is perfect – Through Jesus, we are forgiven and welcomed into God’s family. Accept His love with gratitude.
  3. Come to Jesus for healing – Like the crowds in the Gospel, bring your struggles and pains to Jesus, who is full of compassion.
  4. Say “Yes” to God’s will – Follow the psalmist’s example and commit to living according to God’s plan in your daily life.
  5. Share God’s love – Let your actions reflect Jesus’ kindness and care, offering hope to those around you.
Morning Prayer

Good morning, Lord. Thank You for being my High Priest, always interceding for me and drawing me closer to God. I bring my struggles and joys to You, trusting in Your love and compassion. Help me to say “Yes” to Your will today and live according to Your plan. Fill me with Your kindness so I can share Your love and hope with others. Walk with me, guide me, and strengthen me throughout this day. Amen.
