SUMMARY:WEDNESDAY OF THE 5TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME
DESCRIPTION:First reading: Genesis 2:4-9\, 15-17\nPsalm:  104: 1-2\, 27-30 (O bless the Lord\, my soul)\nGospel: Mark 7: 14-23\n\nA Brief Homily \nToday’s readings invite us to reflect on two important aspects of our relationship with God: our role as stewards of His creation and the importance of inner purity. \nIn the first reading (Genesis 2:4-9\, 15-17)\, we see the beauty of God’s creation. God creates man and places him in the Garden of Eden to care for it. This reminds us that we are not owners of the world but caretakers. God entrusts us with His creation\, expecting us to be responsible and respectful towards the environment\, our bodies\, and all life. Just as Adam was called to care for the garden\, we are called to take care of our homes\, communities\, and even our souls. \nHowever\, caring for creation is not enough if our hearts are impure. That is what Jesus emphasizes in the Gospel (Mark 7:14-23). The Pharisees were overly concerned with external rituals—what people ate\, how they washed\, and outward cleanliness. But Jesus makes it clear: it is not what enters a person that defiles them\, but what comes from the heart. Sin begins inside us\, in our thoughts and desires\, before it shows in our actions. Greed\, pride\, jealousy\, and hatred are what make a person spiritually unclean. \nThis teaching is crucial in our modern world. Many people focus on appearances—dressing well\, following traditions\, or having a good reputation—while their hearts may be filled with anger\, dishonesty\, or selfishness. Jesus calls us to deeper holiness\, a holiness that starts from within. He wants us to cleanse our hearts\, not just our hands. \nAs we reflect on this\, we should ask ourselves: \n\nAre we taking care of God’s creation\, including our environment\, family\, and souls?\nAre we focusing more on outward appearances than inner righteousness?\nWhat is in our hearts—love\, forgiveness\, and humility\, or anger\, jealousy\, and pride?\n\nToday\, let us pray for the grace to purify our hearts and live as faithful stewards of God’s gifts. May we not only take care of what is visible but also nurture a heart that is pleasing to the Lord. \nInspiration Message\n\nGod Made Us Stewards – Take care of the world around you\, knowing that creation is a gift from God.\nGuard Your Heart – True holiness comes from within; avoid anger\, jealousy\, and selfishness.\nChoose Goodness – Every thought\, word\, and action should reflect God’s love and truth.\nRely on God’s Wisdom – Seek God’s guidance in decisions\, just as Adam was given wisdom to care for the garden.\nLive a Life of Gratitude – Bless the Lord always and recognize His presence in your daily life.\n\nMorning Prayer\nHeavenly Father\, You created me in love and placed me in Your beautiful world. Help me to be a faithful steward of all You have given me. Jesus\, purify my heart and remove anything that separates me from You. May my thoughts and actions reflect Your goodness. Fill me with gratitude and joy as I live each day for You. Bless my work\, my words\, and my relationships. I trust in You. Amen. May the almighty God bless you\, The Father and The Son and The Holy Spirit. Amen
