A Brief Homily

Today we remember St. Maximilian Kolbe, a priest who gave his life to save another in a Nazi camp, living the Gospel of love and sacrifice. In the first reading, God shows His power by stopping the Jordan River so His people can cross safely, proving He is always with them. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches us to forgive not just seven times, but seventy-seven times—meaning always. Like St. Maximilian, let us trust God’s presence, forgive without limits, and love selflessly, even when it costs us. This is the path to true freedom and eternal life. Amen.

Morning Prayer

A Brief Homily

Today we celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who was taken up into heaven. The readings honor Mary as the Queen of Heaven and highlight her special place in God’s plan. In Revelation, Mary is described as a powerful sign, clothed with the sun, standing with the faithful. The Psalm celebrates her royal dignity, saying, “The Queen stands at your right hand, arrayed in gold.” St. Paul’s letter reminds us that through Christ’s resurrection, death has been defeated. In the Gospel, we see Mary’s humility and faith as she visits her cousin Elizabeth and praises God. Let us honor Mary by living with faith and humility, trusting in God’s promises and celebrating His victory over death.

SATURDAY OF THE NINETEENTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME

In today’s readings, Joshua calls the people to make a clear choice—serve the Lord with all their hearts and reject other gods. The people respond with commitment, remembering God’s faithfulness. The psalm reminds us that God is our portion, our guide, and our joy. When we keep Him close, we will never be shaken. In the Gospel, Jesus welcomes children, blessing them and showing us the value of simple, pure faith. Let us choose God daily, trust Him as our portion, and approach Him with the humble faith of a child. This is the path to His blessings. Amen.

A Brief Homily

In today’s readings, we see that following God’s will is not always easy. In the first reading, Jeremiah is thrown into a pit because he spoke God’s truth. Yet, God rescues him through the courage of a kind man, showing that He never abandons His faithful servants. The psalm reminds us to call on the Lord in our need, for He will hear and help us. Hebrews encourages us to run with perseverance, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus. In the Gospel, Jesus speaks of bringing fire—meaning change and commitment—which may cause division. True discipleship requires courage, faith, and steadfast love for God. Amen.

Inspiration Message

1. Speak God’s Truth Boldly – Do not be afraid to stand for what is right, even if it is unpopular.
2. Trust God’s Rescue – Believe that God will never abandon you; He can send help in unexpected ways.
