THE SEVENTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME

February 22, 2025 - March 2, 2025

SEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

  • First reading: 1st Samuel 26:2, 7-9, 12-13, 22-23
  • Psalm: 103:1-4, 8, 10, 12-13 (The Lord is kind and merciful)
  • Second reading: 1st Corinthians 15:45-49
  • Gospel: Luke 6:27-38
A Brief Homily

Today’s readings call us to love our enemies and show mercy. David had the chance to kill Saul but chose mercy over revenge. Jesus teaches us to love, forgive, and give without expecting anything in return. This is not weakness but strength—reflecting God’s love. St. Paul reminds us that we are made in the image of Christ, called to live with kindness. True discipleship is shown in how we treat others. Let us ask God for the grace to love even when it’s difficult, trusting that His mercy will always sustain us. Amen.

 Inspiration Message
  1. Choose Mercy Over Revenge – Like David spared Saul, we should forgive those who hurt us. Mercy brings peace, while revenge only creates more pain.
  2. Love Even When It’s Hard – Jesus teaches us to love our enemies. This doesn’t mean agreeing with them but treating them with kindness and respect.
  3. Give Without Expecting Back – True love and generosity are shown when we give freely, just as God gives to us.
  4. Reflect Christ in Your Actions – St. Paul reminds us that we are made in Christ’s image, so we should act with kindness and patience.
  5. Trust in God’s Reward – When we love, forgive, and give, God sees our efforts and blesses us beyond what we expect.
Morning Prayer

Loving Father, thank You for a new day. Fill my heart with mercy, that I may forgive as David forgave Saul. Teach me to love, even when it is hard, and to give without expecting anything in return. Help me reflect Christ in my actions, showing kindness and patience to all. I trust in Your blessings and the reward of living in Your love. Guide me today in Your peace. Amen. May the almighty God bless you, The Father and The Son and The Holy Spirit. Amen

MONDAY OF THE 7TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME

  • First reading: Sirach 1:1-10
  • Psalm: 93: 1-2, 5 (The Lord is King; he is robed in majesty)
  • Gospel: Mark 9:14-29
A Brief Homily

Today’s readings remind us of God’s wisdom and power. Sirach tells us that all wisdom comes from God; it is beyond human understanding. The Gospel shows Jesus healing a boy possessed by a spirit, teaching us that faith and prayer can overcome even the most difficult challenges. When the disciples struggled, Jesus reminded them that only through deep faith and prayer can miracles happen. In our lives, when we face struggles, doubts, or fears, let us turn to God in prayer. With faith, nothing is impossible. Trust in God’s wisdom and power, and He will guide you. Amen.

 Inspiration Message

  2. Have Strong Faith – Even in tough times, trust in God’s power. Faith opens the door for miracles in your life.
  3. Pray Without Ceasing – Jesus reminds us that some challenges can only be overcome through prayer. Make prayer a daily habit.
  4. Trust God’s Timing – When things don’t happen immediately, don’t lose hope. God works in His perfect time.

Life is full of challenges, but Sirach reminds us to remain strong and trust in God when trials come. Hard times test our faith, but God never abandons those who rely on Him. The Psalm encourages us to commit our lives to the Lord, for He is our refuge. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches humility—true greatness comes from serving others, especially the weak and the small. As Christians, let us trust in God, remain humble, and serve with love, knowing He is always with us in every situation. Amen.

WEDNESDAY OF THE 7TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME

  • Gospel: Mark 9: 38-40
A Brief Homily

Wisdom leads us to life. Sirach reminds us that those who love wisdom will receive God’s blessings and guidance. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches us openness and unity. The disciples wanted to stop a man casting out demons in Jesus’ name because he was not part of their group. But Jesus corrects them, saying, “Whoever is not against us is for us.”

As Christians, we must avoid division and jealousy. Instead, we should encourage and support all good works, even if they come from unexpected places. Let us embrace wisdom, humility, and unity in serving God. Amen.

Inspiration Message
  1. Seek Wisdom Daily – True wisdom comes from God. If we love wisdom, we will receive guidance, protection, and blessings in our lives.
  2. Avoid Jealousy and Division – Instead of stopping others from doing good, we should support and encourage them. God’s work is bigger than any one group.
  3. Be Open to God’s Surprises – God can use anyone to do His work, even those we don’t expect. We should recognize and celebrate good wherever we see it.
  4. Stay Humble in Serving God – True disciples do not seek personal glory but work for the glory of God.
  5. Promote Unity in Faith – Jesus calls us to be united, not divided. Let’s work together in spreading love and goodness.
Morning Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for this new day. Fill my heart with Your wisdom and guide my steps in truth. Help me to avoid jealousy and division, and to celebrate the good in others. Keep me humble in serving You, always seeking unity and love. Open my heart to Your surprises and lead me in Your ways. May my words and actions glorify You today. Amen. In a world where relationships are often broken, we are called to be faithful to God and to one another. Whether in friendships or marriage, love must be built on trust and selflessness.
