Heavenly Father, in my life I experience people being nasty to me. Today if someone should be nasty, help me to be courteous in return. I meet people who are unkind to me: today if I meet any such, help me to be kind to them in return and when an occasion arises, help me to generously assist them in their needs. Lord, today when I meet people who hurt me, insult me, ignore me or even injure me, help me to forgive them as Jesus did in a much worse situation – hanging on the cross. This is difficult, Lord. But it must have been even more difficult for Jesus. If I love you, I know I will not find it so difficult. Then help me to love you so. I ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
